Panya wote shimoni wamemsikia paka huko nje. Panya wamegundua hatari inawasubiria huko nje.

Baba panya kafura kwa hasira, anafoka, " Nani mwenye mkia humu!? Panya wote mabibi na mabwana wamenyamaza kimya. Baba panya anapoinuka kwenye kiti ili ambaini mwenye mkia.

BBC TV Presenter Komla Dumor Passes!!! Soooo sad

The BBC's Komla Dumor had a charismatic presenting style

Nelson Mandela's daughter, Makaziwe, described Komla Dumor as a "shining star of Africa"

Tributes have been paid to BBC TV presenter Komla Dumor, who died suddenly at his London home on Saturday at the age of 41. It is thought he suffered a heart attack. A Ghanaian, Dumor joined the BBC in 2007 and became a presenter for BBC World News and its Focus on Africa programme.

With Komla Dumor's sudden and tragic death, Africa has lost one of its brightest young talents. Komla was an inspirational journalist, always determined to find the facts and report on the truth. I shall miss his smile and wonderful sense of humour. May his soul rest in peace. Kofi Annan, former UN Secretary General

For us Africans, we feel very proud when news about Africa are conveyed by an African... and Mr Komla Dumor did an excellent job. There is no doubt he got that job not because he was an African, but because he was highly qualified. Therefore he brought great honour to Africa... This is a great loss to us all in Africa. Ombeni Sefue, Chief Secretary to Tanzania's president
Komla swept into the world, stylish and sure, with his big chuckle, the light in his eyes, a genuine goodwill for people, a familiarity with laughter. He had no false modesty, yet an endearing insecurity lurked beneath his flair-filled confidence. He had, too, something close to innocence, a wonderful capacity for wonder. And now he is gone. We have lost a star.Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, Nigerian author, wirting in Nigeria's Premium Times

I'm so sad to learn about the passing of Mr. Komla Dumor. He was one of my best inspirators! yaani kama vile nilikuwa namjua. We should learn to be happy more in life and appreciate everything and everyone around us more! Life is too fragile.

Black Dogs Experience Discrimination More Than Any Other Dog

The reason is largely because of some common misconceptions about them. Black dogs are

mischaracterized as mean and potentially violent and according to NBC News. Black Dog

Syndrome is a phenomenon in which dogs with black fur often go unadopted because of

misinformed stereotypes.

Black dogs are are euthanized at a much higher rate than dogs with different complexions.

Many owners of black dogs say they are sweet, lovable, but also unwanted.

The chances of being adopted are poor if you’re a black dog. People assume black dogs

are going to be aggressive and mean. A lot of times black dogs and black cats stay in

shelters a lot longer than other dogs.

There are a lot of reasons, myths and theories why. They don’t show up as well in the

kennels, the lighting situation is not the same in the kennel.

They just blend in. Website pictures do not do the black dogs justice. Black dogs in folklore

have been associated with death and ghosts.

There are superstitions, folklore, much the same as black cats. A lot of people think a black

dog is bad luck.

Even puppies are discarded because of the color of their fur. Fara Robinson from Charlotte

SPCA says that it is an Old wives tales that black dogs are mean and don’t photograph as

well unless you have the right lighting. ‘Black dog syndrome sees black dogs over looked

and they are euthanized at a higher rate. Shelters are literally overrun and with black dogs

and puppies.

UN panel hears Vatican over child sex abuse by clergy

A UN panel in Geneva has begun questioning Vatican officials on the sexual abuse of thousands of children by Roman Catholic clergy.
For the Vatican, Archbishop Silvano Tomasi said such crimes could "never be justified" and every child was "inviolable - body, mind and spirit".
The Vatican refused an earlier request for data, saying cases should be heard in the countries where they took place.
It was accused of responding inadequately to abuse allegations.
This is the first time the Holy See is defending itself in public over its record on sex abuse.
Victims say they hope the hearing, which is being broadcast live, will prompt the Church to end its "secrecy".
Pope Francis announced last month that a Vatican committee would be set up to fight sexual abuse of children in the Church and offer help to victims. He also broadened the definition of crimes against minors to include sexual abuse of children.
Teodoro Pulvirenti in New York, 15 January

Teodoro Pulvirenti now lives in New York

'We request justice'
The hearing in Geneva was welcomed by Italian man Teodoro Pulvirenti, who was abused by a priest as a teenager in Sicily.

He recalled how he had gone to the priest for guidance as a teenager.
Mr Pulvirenti, who now lives in the US, told the Associated Press it was time for the Vatican to end its "secrecy" over a global sex abuse scandal.
"I went to his office and... something strange happened and he started putting his hands under my T-shirt and that's when the abuse actually started," he said.
He moved to America in 2006 but returned to Sicily in 2011 and confronted the priest, Don Carlo Chiarenza, who was subsequently found guilty by the Vatican and dismissed from his diocese. The decision is currently under appeal.
"I'm not coming out against the Vatican and I don't want the Church to think the victims are against the Church, against the Vatican," Mr Pulvirenti said. "We are standing up for our own survival, but we request justice."

BLUE IVY TURNS TWO

HII PICTURE NAONA IMETENGENEZWA KUONYESHA JINSI BLUE IVY ANANUKIA PESAAA!

LUCKY LUCKY BABY!!!!

Blue Ivy

Blue Ivy and her dad Jay Z

Blue Ivy had quite a celebration with famous parents Beyoncé and Jay Z for her 2nd birthday Jan. 7. While in Miami, the couple rented out the Jungle Island bird sanctuary in Miami Zoo for their lucky daughter.

The island has been a South Florida tradition for 77 years. It includes creatures such as Red Kangaroos from Australia, Aldabra Tortoises from the Seychelles Islands, Capuchin Monkeys from South America and parrots from around the world. The venue reportedly cost thousands to rent out.

But they can certainly afford it, as Beyoncé and Jay Z are reportedly pop music's first billionaire couple. The 32-year-old Beyoncé is raking in millions from her “Mrs. Carter” show tour, with the Daily Star reporting that she is set to earn approximately $116 million from the tour. She is also making millions as the new face of H&M, and her latest self-titled album has sold nearly 503,000 copies to date.
Meanwhile, Jay-Z has earned millions as co-owner of the 40/40 club, which has two locations in New York, and is reportedly selling his small share with the NBA Brooklyn Nets to extend his Roc Nation Sports representation business into basketball, according to Yahoo Sports.

Her pride and joy: Beyonce helped Blue Ivy celebrate turning two on Tuesday. The pair are pictured here in April

GABRIELLE UNION AND DWAYNE WADE

Dwade Gab

Our favorite dramatic couple, Gabrielle Union and Dwyane Wade, are back in the news. She

did an interview with Glamour in which she dished out relationship advice (yeah, we know).

She said that the split was ultimately her fault because she was so busy…which people on

Twitter took to mean she blamed herself for Wade getting someone pregnant. Here’s the quote:

"When you’re debating whether to go backward or forward, you have to look
at the  original issue. [When Dwyane and I broke up briefly in 2013], it was
        because of distance and scheduling.

I finished filming the show, then I flew to Vegas right away to start shooting Think
Like a Man Too. I couldn’t take time off, and I missed some quality togetherness
         we desperately needed.

Over the summer, I reassessed priorities. I’d always wanted an awesome career
with back-to-back projects, but I realized I wasn’t willing to sacrifice my relationship
for it. Moving forward, I decided my work schedule has to make sense for our
family. Bottom line: If an issue’s a deal breaker, it’s a deal breaker. If your
relationship isn’t something you’re willing to give up and you can compromise, do
         so."

The patient in Naivasha District Hospital who spent time in morgue after being declared dead although still alive - Thursday 9 January 2014

Kenyan authorities have launched an investigation into how a man declared dead in a hospital woke up alive in its morgue the next day.
Shocked mortuary workers at Naivasha hospital ran away when the body stirred and was seen to be breathing.
Paul Mutora, who had tried to kill himself by swallowing insecticide, was pronounced dead on Wednesday night.
The chief medic said the drug used to treat him slowed the heart beat, which may have led to the mistake.
The chief medic said the drug used to treat him slowed the heart beat, which may have led to the mistake.
This might have confused medical personnel, but the victim was saved before he could be embalmed," Dr Joseph Mburu, the superintendent in charge of Naivasha District Hospital, was quoted by Kenya's Standard newspaper as saying.
According to the paper, Mr Mutora's father and other relatives visited the morgue on Thursday morning to view the body and then returned home to start funeral arrangements.
"But in the afternoon we were informed, he was alive and were left in shock," the father said.
A witness told the Star newspaper that when noises were heard inside the cold room:
"The mortuary attendant and a worker took to their heels screaming."Journalists photographed Mr Mutora later recovering on a male ward in the hospital in the lakeside town, 90km (55 miles) north-west of the capital, Nairobi,
"This was a mistake from the start and I apologise to my father," the patient said.

France's Hollande attacks report of affair with actress

French President Francois Hollande says he is considering suing a magazine after it claimed he was having an affair with an actress.
Mr Hollande described the report as an "attack on the right to privacy", but did not deny the allegation.
The latest edition of the weekly tabloid Closer features seven pages of revelations and photos about his alleged affair with Julie Gayet.
Ms Gayet, 41, is an established television and cinema actress.
She has appeared in more than 50 films, and once appeared in one of Mr Hollande's election campaign television adverts.
Rumours of their alleged relationship have been circulating on the internet for many months.
Last March, she filed a complaint with prosecutors in Paris against various bloggers and websites that were reporting on the rumours.
Her lawyer at the time said there was no basis to the claims. She has not yet commented on the latest developments.
Mr Hollande's official partner is Valerie Trierweiler, a journalist for whom he left fellow Socialist politician Segolene Royal, the mother of his four children.

2014 THE YEAR FOR AFRICA? NEXT 12 MONTHS PREDICTIONS

In our series of letters from African journalists, Kenyan Joseph Warungu has been staring into his crystal ball to predict what the next 12 months might hold for the continent.

Kenyan children with painted faces enjoy a ride on a toy horse during New Year's celebrations at Uhuru Park in Nairobi, Kenya, Wednesday, 1 January 2014

So what will this New Year have in store for my continent? Could the secret lie in the number 14?

Not according to the Chinese, who consider it the unluckiest number.
Yet my inner voice tells me money will out-juju the number 14 and Chinese plans to improve Africa's infrastructure will not waver.
Whether it's a dam in the Brong Ahafo region of Ghana, or the enhancement of the port at Nouakchott in Mauritania, or roads and railways projects in Angola and Kenya, the 24-hour Chinese construction machinery will roll on.
A Chinese employee of the China Machinery Engineering Corporation poses in front of a tar factory on the construction site of a highway between Abidjan and Bassam in September 2013 in Bassam

Whatever you think of the Chinese, the more than $2.5bn (£1.5bn) they have already invested in Africa, will change the face of the continent in 2014 and beyond.

However, 2014 will definitely not be a perfect year for Africa, partly because the New Year is already contaminated by the old.
The continent has carried over a number of conflicts that flared up or got worse in 2013, such as South Sudan, the Central African Republic and Egypt.
These events, sadly, mean Africa will continue to witness conflict in 2014.
And with atrocities comes a desire for justice at local or international level.
Already the past year kept the International Criminal Court (ICC) at The Hague busy pursuing justice for victims of war crimes in Africa, especially Ivory Coast and Kenya.

Scramble for African domination?
With only a year left to the 2015 International Telecommunications deadline for countries to switch from analogue to digital broadcasting, many more African nations will make the transition in 2014.
This effectively means more space on the spectrum and hence more TV channels and hopefully more choice for the consumer.
However, my crystal ball tells me that, ironically, instead of an expansion of the public arena for free expression, the curse of the number 14 will mean a reduction of space for media to operate freely.
Parliamentary examples from South Africa and Kenya showed that politicians do not like journalists who talk too much and reveal the nudity of the emperor.
In 2013 they responded by sewing their mouths with tough legislative thread.
My crystal ball sighs that in 2014 politicians on the continent will want to continue protecting their privilege to talk a lot, decide who else can talk and what they can say.

Despite the goings-on in national assemblies, Africans will dutifully troop to the polls to find new or better leadership for their countries.
Presidential or parliamentary elections are due to take place in several nations including South Africa, Botswana, Algeria, Mozambique, Namibia and Niger.
If all this appears too gloomy, Africa and the rest of the world can look to Brazil for some relief in 2014.

Cameroon, Ghana, Algeria, Ivory Coast and Nigeria will carry Africa's hopes at the Fifa World Cup.
Although no African team has ever made it to the semi-finals, Ghana got our hearts racing by reaching the quarter-finals in 2010.

The last time the number 14 appeared on a calendar was 100 years ago in 1914, and it still had significance then for Africa.
It was the year that immediately followed the end of the scramble for Africa by European powers.
At the start of the scramble in 1880, Europe only controlled about 10% of Africa. When the scramble was over, almost all of Africa was in European hands.
Ever the optimist, I've quietly colluded with my crystal ball to conclude that with great innovations coming out of Africa, with some of the world's largest unexploited natural resources residing in its soil, with the continent's football stars shining everywhere and with its population now well over a billion, 2014 could just be the year Africa begins to turn the tables on Europe and take over the world.
Just watch this space.

MANDELA CLAN IN RENEWED ROW OVER WHO TO BE THE MAIN HEIR TO HIS WILL

Mandla Mandela, the grandson of former South African President Nelson Mandela

Nelson Mandela's extensive family has continued the bitter squabbles that began before his death with a dispute over who is now their proper leader, days before the reading of his will is expected.

Both his oldest grandson, Mandla Mandela, an ANC MP, who was nominated by the former statesman to be a traditional chief in his home province, and his eldest daughter by his first wife Evelyn, Makaziwe Mandela, are seeking to win control of decision-making within the family over his legacy.
Winnie Madikizela-Mandela, Mandela’s ex-wife who has retained her prominence in the family, suggested in a recent statement that Makaziwe should run its affairs, in concert with her own two daughters, Zenani and Zindzi.
Her intervention earned a rebuke from the AbaThembu royal house to which the former South African president belonged. It called her remarks “disrespectful”. “Mandla Mandela is the only point of entry to the Mandela house and he remains the head of this house,” an AbaThembu spokesman said.

It was also reported that Graca Machel, Mandela’s third wife and widow, had been given notice to vacate the Johannesburg home they shared. Makaziwe told The Daily Telegraph the reports were “rubbish”.
